Jewellers drill tiny holes in which to insert their saw blades to meticulously saw out every part of the metal by hand. The work is then chased to provide a textured surface which accentuates the geometric or floral patterns used. Various welding techniques are then employed to provide a seamless finish before the work is assembled and then finished by hand.
